BC Ferries Seeks Feedback on Denman and Hornby Island Summer Ferry Service

infrastructure · May 10, 2024 · Denman and Hornby Islands ferry routes

Residents have expressed concerns about ferry service improvements not fully addressing traffic and safety issues caused by increased tourist vehicles on Denman and Hornby Islands. Suggestions include replacing the Baynes Sound Connector ferry, conducting feasibility studies for a direct Hornby ferry, limiting tourist RV lengths, reconsidering first-come/first-served lanes for essential travelers, and holding public meetings to address these issues.
